Video: The first impressions to the T-Mobils G1
In the first quarter in 2009 the T-Mobils G1 will be also available with us. This first mobile phone with the Open-Source the company system "Android" which was developed of Google is one of big hopes, under Open-Source eager and iPhone-Hassern. During the last days the first German-speaking video has appeared that the G1 examines critically:
T-Mobils G1 hand-on GERMAN GERMAN from dertobi on Vimeo.
In the G1Blog become the first weaknesses and strengths which go out from the video as follows described:
Strengthen:
- After a Factory-Reset the unluring is preserved
- The G1 Street-View application functions fast and Android runs very liquidly
- Programmes can run in the background
- The track ball is a good supplement to the bad touchscreen
Weaken:
- The G1 activation is possible only with a T-Mobils Simkarte
- G1 only with a Google account usable, changes no more possibly
- G1 touchscreen is not convincing (badly reacts, nobody multitouch)
- Android Market still offers no big offer
- up to now no software Updates in Germany possibly
- still no German available
With the help of the video and other reports, we can only agree to him. The G1 is still no real competition for iPhone, however, it concerns with this mobile phone the first version, a possible competitor and the fact that the operating system will be soon free-available for every mobile phone manufacturer, makes the G1 attractively. We can be glad, in any case, already about many applications and still better hardware.
